This is a board paper on the Lloyd's half year results 2026, written as a risk team's update to its own board. It sets out what the market's first half means for the 2027 plan. It then puts five questions to the board, one to a page. Each page has one chart, what it shows and what a good answer would cover. It is written for the risk team that prepares board papers, and for the board, the CFO and the CUO who discuss them. The PowerPoint's text is editable. Change the questions, add a line on your own firm and put your board date on the cover. You get the PDF and the PowerPoint, 8 slides each.

Performance analysis
How much of our 2027 profit plan rests on investment return?
What it shows: Underwriting profit rose to £5.53 from £4.64 per £100 written, while investment return fell to £5.17 from £9.76. With rates down 6.7%, softer pricing now squeezes the larger share of profit.
For the board: A good answer splits the plan's profit between underwriting and investment return, and shows how that split moves if yields rise or rates fall further.
