Risk reporting check

Which of your teams get risk intelligence back?

A six-question check for risk teams at Lloyd's managing agents and London market insurers. One question per team: the board, operations, claims, underwriting, delegated authority and finance. It takes about two minutes. You see which teams have gaps, and what good looks like.

The problem

Every team sends the risk team evidence. Few get anything back.

The risk team asks each team for evidence every quarter. The teams send it, then wait for the pack. The pack is written for the board, not for the people who did the work. So the next request feels like homework, and the evidence arrives late.

The check

Six questions, one per team.

Answer for each team as it is today.

1 of 6 · BoardCan your board see appetite against the plan between meetings, not only in the quarterly pack?
2 of 6 · OperationsDoes operations see its failed controls on the process they belong to, without an evidence chase by email?
3 of 6 · ClaimsDoes claims see each large loss with its recovery, its reserve and the complaints behind it, in one view?
4 of 6 · UnderwritingDoes underwriting see the plan by class, with its appetite and wording exceptions beside it?
5 of 6 · Delegated authorityDoes delegated authority see a coverholder breach when the bordereaux land, not at the next audit?
6 of 6 · FinanceDoes finance see the capital model and the risk register read together, with reserve movements beside their risks?

What we think

Risk reporting is a deal, not a request.

The risk team asks each team for a few things, recorded where the work already happens. Each team gets back a view of its own business, with the risk read into it. Context Visualised is where that deal happens.

  1. Start from the team's own question.

Are we on plan? What hit us? Every view opens with a question that team already asks.

  2. Give back before you ask again.

Evidence is recorded once, where the work happens. The team reads its own view from it, not a pack next quarter.

  3. Use numbers already signed off.

We start from returns already sent to Lloyd's, so the debate is about what to do next.
