For claims

Every large loss, every recovery, every complaint. One view.

Large losses, recoveries, claims controls and complaints usually live in four places. CoVi Analytics puts them in one view, linked to each other. At Halden, 22% of 142 complaints are upheld, and the UAE fronting partner runs at 35%. You see why, without asking three teams.

Halden is a fictitious Lloyd's managing agent. We run it in CoVi Analytics and publish its reports one at a time.

The problem

Claims does the work. The numbers about claims sit somewhere else.

Your team knows every large loss by name. But the large loss ratio sits with finance, the recoveries with reinsurance and the reserve with actuarial. Complaints arrive as a monthly count. Since 1 January 2026, Claims Management has been a Lloyd's hurdle Principle, so its rating caps the syndicate's overall category.

Today
  • Large losses, recoveries and reserves in separate reports
  • Complaints as a number, not a reason
  • Partner claims problems you hear about late
  • Control testing that feels like someone else's job
What you need
  • Each large loss with its reinsurance and reserve history
  • Complaints linked to the claim, partner and incident behind them
  • Fronted and delegated claims on the same view as your own
  • Controls that show the claims work you already do
How we solve it

Start with the large loss ratio. Open any loss to see what reinsurance paid.

Halden's claims view for 2026 puts large losses, complaints and claims controls side by side. One claims control has failed: the claims authority agreement with the fronting partner. It shows on the process map too, where the Reserving stop is red.

The complaint, the fronting partner and the failed control are one story. Today they sit in three reports.

The exchange

This is a deal between your claims team and your risk team. CoVi Analytics is where it happens.

What your risk team asks of your claims team

  • Record large loss reserve changes as the committee agrees them.
  • Log file audit results and evidence where the work happens.
  • Tag each complaint to its root cause and any linked incident.

What your claims team gets back

  • Large losses with recoveries and reserve history in one view.
  • Complaints traced to the partner and incident behind them, not a monthly count.
  • Control testing built from work you already do, ready for the board's Principles Board Attestation on Claims Management.

How it works.

  1. We take in your loss and complaints records.

Large losses, reinsurance recoveries, your claims controls and the complaints log, with partner returns.

  2. We join each loss to its recovery.

Each loss carries its reserve history, and each complaint its partner and incident.

  3. Your claims team records as the committee decides.

Reserve changes go in when they are agreed, and file audits when they are done.

How we think differently

How we think differently

  • Claims numbers belong with claims.

The large loss ratio, the recoveries and the complaints tell one story. We show them together.

  • Partners are part of your claims operation.

Fronted and delegated claims sit on the same view as your own. The FCA is widening its review of outsourced claims to delegated authority models, with findings due in early 2027.

  • Your work is the evidence.

The large loss committee and file audits are controls. We record them where they happen. When one of them fails, your own stop on the map turns red.

Proof

See how Halden reads its claims.

A hurricane, a Texas jury award, a warehouse fire in Jebel Ali. Each loss shows what reinsurance paid and where the reserve moved.

What Halden did: the Head of Claims owns ACT-029, to agree claims service levels with the UAE fronting partner (INC-028).
